Tasting notes

Light straw color. Lively aromas of lemon peel, lemongrass, fresh warm pineapple and shortbread, which just a touch of sweet almond pastry. Refreshing acidity dances on the tongue with a hint of green apple flavor, which leads you into a pleasantly creamy lemon custard finish. This wine combines the more interesting aromatics and acidity of Sauvignon Blanc and cooler climate unoaked Chardonnay with the more inviting mouthfeel of a fuller bodied, warmer site Chardonnay.

Production notes

100% SS fermentation to dryness at cool temperatures to retain the maximum fruit aromas and flavors. Fruit was sourced from several Columbia Valley vineyards, including the Wahluke Slope and the Yakima Valley AVAs.  No malo-lactic fermentation.

Other notes

Harvest: 2016 had a very mild and warm winter followed by a wet Spring with a few heat spikes early on in May. Summer had an average amount of heat, but nothing like what we saw in 2015. A few rain events throughout the growing season made regulating irrigation water a bit tricky. The first part of harvest had mild heat which made for steady and even ripening of the fruit. The end of harvest was hit with off and on rain for a few weeks, which really slowed things down and stretched out picking dates. The 2016 harvest resulted in large crops with impressive fruit quality.
