2005 Single Vineyard Limited Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting notes
Deep, dark color. Brambly, but at the same time creamy, dark fruit (predominantly cassis ) wrapped in blanket of toast, spice, mint, sage, basil and vanilla. Medium full on the pallet with brambly darker fruit, toasted oak and black cherry cola notes and a long, well structured finish.
Production notes
Grapes are from B and D Blocks of Red Mountain Vineyard. Aged 21 months in 50% American and 50% French Oak. 100% new oak.
Other notes
Harvest Notes: 2005 was a banner year in the vineyards. Mostly even temperatures and little wind and rain during bloom made for nice set. The summer was hot, but not too hot, and typical fall ripening conditions of warm days (80-85) and cool nights (45-50) began in mid-September and continued through October. Our philosophy of picking at optimum flavor maturity saw us picking later maturing Cab the third week of October. Another great vintage from Red Mountain.
