2010 Red Mountain Blend
Tasting notes
Dark purple-black color. Aromas were red raspberry and dark berry fruit, gamey meat, dried sage-like herbs, sweet cinnamon and clove spice, and slight toasted marshmallow and vanilla. In the mouth this wine is full and slightly sweet and tart with noticeable tannins. The flavors are dark berry fruit, toast, cinnamon-clove spice and gamey meat. The finish is long with a refreshing hint of pie cherry tartness.

This wine was 100% barrel aged for an average of 17 months in 51% medium plus toasted new oak consisting of 60% American, 37% French and 3 % Hungarian.
Other notes
Harvest Notes: 2010 was one of the coolest vintages on record in Washington State with the growing season registering about 10% fewer heat units than average. Although ripening was delayed 2 to 3 weeks, a long, warm post-veraison period allowed the grapes to fully mature. This meant the fruit had great acid retention and developed intense flavor and color, which resulted in fruitier, more structured wines with nice acidity and great varietal character.
