Grapes are from Les Gosses and Hedges Estate vineyards. The Viognier was picked on 10/24 and the Marsanne was picked on 10/14 and was pressed to both new and neutral barrels. The Marsanne barrels went through malo-lactic fermentation while stirring lees every other day for 1 week. Wine stayed in barrel until bottling on April 11, 2023. The wine was aged in 52% new oak for 6 months. 92% French oak / 8% American oak.
Harvest Notes: 2022 was a challenging year from spring through fall! We had snow in April and didn't see warm temperatures until early May. The heat was mild until we hit mid-August and saw temperatures over 100 for a couple of weeks! Everything was delayed including bud break, fruit set and veraison and we had a few extra weekends in September due to a late first day of harvest! All of the challenges were worth it and we saw a bountiful and delicious crop. The crew worked until just before Thanksgiving and we managed to get all of our fruit in before the holiday.
