Production notes
Grapes are from estate Red Mountain AVA vineyards within a two-mile radius of the winery: Hedges, Bel’ Villa, Les Gosses and Jolet. The wine was destemmed and partially crushed into stainless steel fermenters where it was pumped over twice daily until desired tannin extraction was achieved. It was then pressed to barrels where it underwent malo-lactic fermentation, then racked off lees and 100% was barrel aged in 49% new oak, American (58%), French oak (39%) and Hungarian (3%).

Harvest notes: 2022 was a challenging year from Spring through Fall! We had snow in April and didn’t see warm temperatures until early May. The heat was mild until we hit mid-August and saw temperatures over 100 for a couple of weeks! Everything was delayed including bud break, fruit set and veraison and we had a few extra weekends in September due to a late first day of harvest! All of the challenges were worth it and we saw a bountiful and delicious crop. The crew worked until just before Thanksgiving and we managed to get all of our fruit in before the cold weather set in. The 2022 vintage made us really earn the fruits of our labor and we are starting to enjoy them.
