Aroma / Flavor: cranberry / plum / cured meat / salted chocolate / ginger / earth / spice box / vanilla
Texture: full / bright / long / supple / juicy
Tasting Notes: Ripe blueberries, peppered salami, bright cranberry and plum with a subtle character of smoked meat. Fresh baked cinnamon coffee cake and a touch of buttered popcorn round of the complex aromatics. The flavors of cinnamon, slight vanilla custard and chocolate truffle bring about a nice balance to the underlying gamey character.
This wine is lush, yet has a solid acidity to pair with it. Richness and finesse will harness your attention throughout the long, smooth finish. One sip and you will be transported to the land these wines thrive in. You will feel the dusty, hot, sun-drenched terroir that Syrah on Red Mountain loves so much.
Cellaring: This wine is lovely now but, like other Red Mountain wines, should age well. It will likely peak within 5 years, but still very drinkable at 10 years old.
