Production
The grapes come from our Estate Red Mountain biodynamic and organic certified vineyards. Most of teh wines were pumped over during alcoholic fermentation for 6-10 days before being pressed to barrel. It then completed malo-lactic fermentation and then aged for an additional 24 months in 49% new oak: 58% American oak, 39% French oak, and 3% Hungarian oak.

Harvest
2022 was a challenging year from spring through fall. We had snow in April and didn't see warm temperatures until early May. The heat was mild until we hit mid-August and saw temperatures over 100 deg for a couple of weeks! Everything was delayed including bud break, fruit set, and veraison, and we had a few extra weekends in September due to a late first day of harvest. All of the challenges were worth it, and we saw a bountiful and delicious crop. The crew worked until just before Thanksgiving and we managed to get all of our fruit in before the cold weather set in. The 2022 vintage made us really earn the fruits of our labor and we are starting to enjoy them.

Cellaring: The structure of this wine means it will be best within a few years of release, but should be wonderful to drink for the next 5 years.
